Foot Support - Technology for your sport shoe
Feet are high-performance giants
The supporting surface of the foot is not even as high as that of a tennis ball and yet we subject it to such high stresses in bearing our weight. They adapt themselves to the required articular motion sequences and absorb the forces transmitted from the hip to the knee and ankle joint. The foot is additionally subjected to excessive stresses encountered by abrupt changes in direction and continuous shifting of the centre of gravity.
The articular processes typical to each of sporting activities are being influenced positively by the targeted individual utilization of NovaPED sports insoles. The work of muscles becomes more efficient, thus enhancing the potential for performance; this reduces the inadvertent forces on the foot and noticeably resists irregular exposures to stress.
The direction of forces and their respective regions of support in sporting activities are shown by the indicative variations of their pressure distribution:

NovaPED sport foot supports redistribute inadvertent stress peaks and serve as an optimal interface between foot and sport shoe.
The general anatomy of NovaPED sports foot supports
All foot support models have a heel guide (1), in order to stabilize the hindfoot when the first contact with the ground is made (normally with the heel). This controls the acting force. In this way, the upper ankle joint has less balancing work to perform. Additional padding in this area acts to absorb shocks and so to minimize strain on the heel.
The metatarsal area (2) is specifically strengthened, which still allows torsion without limiting the mobility of the foot. The support of the longitudinal arch (3) acts to prevent the foot giving way under heavier strain. An implied (4) pad prevents overloading the head of the metatarsal bone.
All other special properties of NovaPED sports foot supports from Schein are matched to the respective sport.
